Along with the release of my monthly Free Printable Task list, I like to include a sampling of new products for my shop. This month I have released four new products (journal and coffee mug) with my two favorite flowers; peonies and roses. I love the peonies and roses that adorn our front flower garden. Our Morden Blush rose bush has already started blooming and our two other rose bushes are not far behind. One of my eleven peony plants is also blooming.
Along with taking in the beauty of my garden each morning, there are two constants to my morning ritual; my journal and my coffee. Add my Bible to that and put me in my favorite chair and I have a recipe for quiet time. Quiet time prepares my heart to be ready for whatever the day may bring, resting in the knowledge that the Lord is in control and listening to His love for me through prayer, reading, silence and journalling.
Journalling daily is a way to process thoughts, feelings and create more clarity with goal setting. The process of looking back at one’s journal is important for defining success; where we have come from defines where we will go. Read more about the process of journalling for the purpose of goal setting in 15 Journal Prompts for Goal Setting.
This process of looking back in order to move ahead is important to build a ritual of affirmations. Affirmations are short, present tense statements that define who we want to become and believe. Practice these daily and you will create habits that will retrain your brain to form healthy beliefs. Check out How to Set Goals to Achieve Successful Outcomes to create your own affirmation routine. There is a handy affirmation guide in the Free Printables section to help you get started.
To introduce my two new journals, I have incorporated my love for Surface Pattern Design together with my photography of gorgeous peonies and roses. I have been taking a surface pattern design course with the goal to license my art on fabric and paper products (more journals, calendars, planners, wallpaper, greeting cards and stationary). I love how the coil feature allows you to lay the journal flat as you write.
The first Peony Photo Art Journal is of a peony photograph combined with hand drawn sketches of peonies from my sketch book. Peony buds that are not fully open are my absolute favorite.
The Rose Photo Art Journal is a compilation of images from my own Morden Blush rose bush in addition to my hand drawn sketches of wild rose bushes from our acreage.
For my coffee mug designs, I incorporated a similar aesthetic as the journals. The Peony Photo Art Coffee Mug is elegant and classy just like the peony.
This Rose Photo Coffee Mug design was a combination of another beautiful rose photo from our front garden last year in addition to the hand drawn wild rose sketches.
Just for you, I have created the July Monthly Task List with a similar image as the Peony Photo Art Mug and Journal. The quote reads, “There is progress in creating, just as there is progress in rest.” For a one click download and print CLICK on the picture below or head on over to the Free Printables Section.
I hope you have enjoyed my creative process and journey behind the scenes with these journals and coffee mugs. These two products and journalling routines are essential to my quiet time.
